  At the time this post was make the average rating was 3.7... That's just too high compared to all my other experiences dining in Nelson. My burgers are always overcooked and dry. If one can't make a decent burger then how can one expect to make any other meal very well?

  This is the best place for a drink on the patio while in Nelson. On the hottest day of the year, to date, this place provided a view of lake and cool drinks. We met a server, in town, who recommended we make reservation on the patio in the shade during Happy Hour. Our server, Nico, described the specials and took our drink order quickly. The Happy Hour specials were a great deal. We ordered the calamari, kale salad and the steamer pot. All the food came together and Nico made sure the next round of drinks were on their way. For three people, the food and drinks were a hell of deal!

  Great view of the waterfront. Live music on a Saturday afternoon of a local band my parents really enjoyed. Delicious food. I usually don't like salads but their dressing was mouth watering.

  The food was good but the low rating is due to poor service. This is our second time travelling to Nelson and By far, the worst experience we have had. The server was rude and over all displeased. Simple requests such as ordering a drink or another helping of the all you can eat mussels/clams was met with contempt. The restaurant was not busy and servers even commented that it was irregularly slow - no idea why it took so long for waters/drinks and the food. This was the first time I have EVER considered not tipping... I still tipped but I really did not want to. It was NOT deserved. I'd also like to point out that two other tables were heard making complaints about bad service and commented that the servers were inside at the bar gossiping instead of serving(I did not verify that). Thank god the food was good but the service aspect needs some serious guidance.

  West Coast Grill is a very nice restaurant. I am not a local and visit Nelson twice a year, each time I try a new restaurant. This is the best one I have tried so far. The service was Great unlike how some of the reviewers said. The food was medium sized portions but I found it filling. Average to slightly above average prices but I would come here again. Love it!
