  Stayed here for one night and it was great. The beach is amazing and uncrowded and the washrooms are clean. I dealt with Jane and she was super nice. Very good overall experience.

  Excellent location/ private white sandy beach; Each plot is quite private- so you can tuck away if you like or get social around the picnic tables, beach and fire pit. The amenities are wonderful; clean cedar solar + propane (hot) showers + sink & mirror next to it; they have nicely built cedar outhouses- also clean (tp included.) They have water for dishes & drinking available + a sheltered counter area for cooking as well as 2 large BBQ's. Everything is quite new. The young hosts treat you with respect; they are friendly & will hang out once in a while, but mostly they keep to themselves & do their own thing. The camp is usually booked up every day from what I observed. People from Australia, USA, and Canada stay here. I met some very interesting & lovely people. I had a peaceful stay. Loved the goats- they are a very entertaining little duo. Someone mentioned the train horns; I only heard them a couple of times. It wasn't enough to scare me off & I am not a big fan of noise. The town is close by & was bustling during my stay. Pay parking is in effect in town so bring loonies & twoonies for parking. Kootenay Lake, at the camp is very large, scenic & lovely; the hosts have a canoe, and some blow up dingy types boats you can use. I stayed 4 nts. I had to leave early to come to Vernon; the hosts were eloquent enough to refund me the two nts I didn't stay. They didn't have to but they did, and I found that to be really sweet. If the Whistle Stop wasn't so far I would return again & again, but it was an 8 hr drive for me - a little too far. Perhaps sometime I will return again. ps. This is a respectable & quiet camp site.   An absolute gem! We stayed 3 nights here and loved it. The canoe, private white sand beach, showers, communal outdoor kitchen area and a lakeside spot! And the perfect distance into Nelson. Thanks for a great stay- we'll definitely be back!! Rach and Lee
